Cached view / reader view for saved URLs

Feature Requests

It would be nice if there was a way to show a mimimalistic version of any saved URL within memex for the following reasons:

  • we could still access content when the original source goes offline (by far the biggest reason, otherwise we might get pefrfect search results from memex only to find the original source is gone)

  • it would open the opportunity to highlight and annotate from within memex (like it's already possible for Youtube videos)

  • Search could provide more context with highlighted content excerpts

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere, feels like a common request, but I haven't found similar issues.

    I'm also interested in having a reader option. I'm currently using Readwise more than Memex because of this single reason.

    We do indeed have all the data but a reader is complicated to build.

    Requires a lot of finetuning to make sure to actually show the relevant content and do so in a structure that makes sense.

    We may get to it in the not so distant future once we get the product in its current rich feature set on stable ground.

      Totally understandable, appreciate the focus on getting the existing scope solid.
