Improve Sync (and its UX)

There are a few issues with sync to tackle, some functional and some user experience) We've had a lot of data-model related changes in the past 1.5 years and users who were there before are more likely to be affected. (In progress) Show download counter in desktop and mobileWas removed and needed reimplementation with @Important: Manifest V3 Update in Chrome - Extension 3.18.0 (In progress) Space associations not properly syncing over from mobile to extension(Up Next)Mobile app sync seemingly stuck at "preparing sync" step on the very first sync with lots of dataIt's actually syncing but because we have an old Firebase SDK version we can't easily update we can't really count the items properly.Solution right now: Just let it open and syncing, it should eventually just finish.Rare instance: Setting up new extension with data that is older than 6 months has data related issue because of recent and frequent data model updates

Saving PDFs not working as expected.

I saved a PDF from the web and annotated it with memex, leaving comments and highlights. However, in the memex inbox, when I try to reopen the pdf by clicking on it, nothing happens. Still, all highlights and notes are shown. But the PDF is not opened / saved to be viewed at a later time.

Saved - Dashboard, don't understand Ask AI button

I do not understand the use case for Ask AI, as it doesn't get context from the saved page that you clicked "Ask AI" about - until you open the page link and then ask AI, and add the page to context. Perhaps you can pass the page info when using this button from the dashboard?

Sync issue: Firefox -> Other (Chrome, Android, iOS)

I'm using memex on multiple platforms and browsers. Sync seems to work pretty well between Chrome (Desktop), Android and iOS.The only issue is Firefox (Desktop). It did some comprehensive testing... Firefox receives updates from all other platforms (Android, iOS) and even Chrome.But everything I add in Firefox is neither pushed to Chrome (running on the same Computer) nor to Android/iOS. Now I have an inconsistent view/database between Firefox (my main browser) and the others.I believe, it worked pretty good ~1month ago but stopped working with the latest updates. Hopefully, it can be fixed quickly.

annotating individual e-mails

Today I annotated a mail in gmail on chrome by accident. How great is that :) But unfortunately all the annotations from different mails get collected in one folder with the title "gmail". Is it technically possible to collect them under the single mails with the mail header, recipient and date on the title. Some will not be able to backlink if deleted, but that would be ok. This would lift research onto a whole new level, because one could now also collect the input from others via mail.

Can't login or signup

I'm on Macbook Pro M1 using Brave. Everything is up to date. Won't let me sing un thru Google. Says it's an error on your side. Can still see my history of notes in dashboard but they don't appear in sidebar. Please fix this guys, I already made the move to Memex from my prev note-taking app and this is really messing with my worklife now.

Combine Highlights into one note

Specifically when working in PDFs a full note/related idea might be broken up within a paragraph. Such as this: Currently you can highlight each sentence individually which turns into individual notes. Or you can highlight the main idea and edit the note to add additional context. It would be cool to be able to combine two highlights into one note.

Space Description

I just added a space description to one of my spaces which worked, but it continues to show upon switching to any other space. The one way to get the space description to change accordingly is to manually refresh the dashboard. It is as if the ajax reload isn't applying to space descriptions.

Import not working at all on Chrome, Brave, Arc

The dialog to pick a bookmarks file doesn't even appear on every Chromium browser, tried Brave (Shields down), Arc, Chrome with Ad Blockers disabled. It does work on Firefox but failed on most (valid) URLs with```Data provided to an operation does not meet requirements. DataError: Data provided to an operation does not meet requirements.```
