General Polish - Buggy Areas & Workflows, Potential for Great UX improvements
Bundled thread to collect all ideas where Memex could be more polished, less buggy and had better UX.
Where you often run into hickups because the UX could be better?
What are areas that feel buggy still?
What areas feel too bare bones?

hi, some questions and feature request that seem relevant to this card :
on the dashboard :
I don’t understand the
minimize/maximize videoicon ? is the video supposed to be embedded ? on vivaldi and chromium, I don’t see embedded videos, the icon only changes the top-padding of the title sectionin fact, it would be nice to have embedded videos inside the dashboard
the
collapse allbutton of the top menu has the same icon as themaximize/minimize video, I find it slightly confusing since these are different functions[FR] also I would prefer to collapse/fold each item individually rather than globally : maybe add a button on the left of each section to fold them ? (use-case : I want to read notes of different items and keep them in view, while collapsing items in-between them)
[FR] different views (list/cards/masonry) would be helpful to browse bookmarks, similar to raindrop or feedly. more or less achievable via custom css but a native solution would be nice
[FR] spaces section : add sorting options (by alphanum/size/shares/dates)
thank you !

When highlighting text in a PDF, there's a strange bug:
When changing zoom, some highlights will jump to different pages of the PDF.

Things we have on our radar:
Improving test coverage to reduce regressions
Prevent tab from being closed while PDF is still uploading
Users sometimes lose the auth state, needs fixing but also generally better UX on indicating a logged out state
In some cases the matching of URLs with annotations is not working well (in particular when the ?querystrings in the url change. Needs better handling and some cleaning up.
