Page titles breaking Memex -> Obsidian Sync
Website titles (especially for social media) are breaking Sync for two reasons
titles are often generic (such as just the name of the user / profile) which means it seems to get confused about which note to send the updated info to
titles sometimes change (such as a website title that features "30 unread" or something like that in it's title which then creates a second note instead of updating the original.
Not to mention that since I cannot change the title without breaking sync, it's hard to know what the note is about.
I tried changing the title to a unique date/time but it was causing the same sync problems as #2 where it wouldn't recognize the note as the same one anymore because it would push the change as a new note.
Personally, I would actually welcome a simpler sync solution like:
A semi-manual push sync where I can maybe add a note to a Space labeled Obsidian that will then send it to Obsidian one time.
I could then remove and re-add to that Space to send it again if I wanted to.
Thanks again for all the work on this!

just curious, since I had the title problem as well, why does Memex not recognize the file I had manually updated as one I had already synced? It creates a new Markdown file, which is quite annoying.
my thoughts are similar to the above:
I don't need the Memex changes to percolate back, i'd much prefer a way to set the Memex clipper templates and fields.
I have a system for tags, as well as a consistent way I apply properties (like Title, URL)
Spaces wouldn't be notes, but rather tags for me. Though I do like the idea of Spaces as pages themselves, and I accidentally (and quite happily) discovered recently that each space can be its own page on Memex.
I also think there's a creative way to do annotations using Markdown's
>syntax. I'd rather the page just be:titlesourcetagsBody of the page are the highlights, and any notes
would love to help work on this, so feel free to reach out if you need any support. I am trying to build an Obsidian Plugin on the side that finds pages associated with "Memex Sync" and maybe applies your Clippings Template.

It's already possible to see Memex notes & spaces in Obsidian. You can just cut & paste the link from Memex in the browser into Obsidian. Since Memex data is stored offline, this will work even without an internet connection.
All you need to do in order to have this work is register the default browser to use the URL protocol 'chrome-extension'.
For a more fluid Obsidian experience, an Obsidian plugin to allow direct embedding of Memex notes, spaces etc would be amazing.

Fixed and will go out with the next release.
What changed:
Removes all parenthesis and its encapsulating content like (2) from the filename and synced title
Removes all special characters like #%&{}\\<>?/$!'"@ from the filename and replaces them with -

That's a great suggestion!
