Sync with Obsidian

Many thanks, it is great to have the function of sync with Obsidian!

It works fine when adding and changing highlights, notes, and spaces in Memex, the informations will be added to Obsidian.

However, when highlights and notes deleted in Memex, the corresponding information could not be deleted in Obsidian automatically, which makes it difficult for further organization. Hope the deleted highlights and pages in Memex could also be deleted in Obsidian automatically.

Meanwhile, the changes in the synchronized files in Obsidian could not be reflected in the Memex dashboard. It will be best if the changes in obsidian could be sync back to Memex as well.

It appears this integration is not longer supported? The links in the memex dashboard go to a 404 page on github and the tutorial is gone. Any idea if obsidian support will continue?

I've tried it yesterday. The tutorial is indeed giving a 404 error, however the program installed from the git hub works as intended (though features like choosing the integration method would be nice :)

What I mean by this is that the name of the YAML Created at contains a space… wich makes it incompatible with the powerfull plugin dataview. Plus it requieres the rewrite of all your notes to harmonize this meta data naming if you had one already in place.

What I suggest to solve this issue is to simply allow users to change the name for the YAML in the memex dashboard.

Other less original asks would be :

      • using tags instead of [[title]] for a better organisation of memex spaces.

      • Having a small memex plugin for obsidian which handles synching memex files to memex extension. The way I'm imagining it is that realtime sych is a pain. However, synching on use of a command (CTRL + P in obsidian) and forcing synch in this dituation from obsidian to memex could be a game changer for all users.

      • Synching file deletion from memex dashboard to obsodian (and even better would be having it be two way).

      • Alright this last one might be original after all, embedding the youtube video at the top of the file containing the highlights, timestamps etc. Obsidian has an easy way to handle it via markdown syntax. Something amazing but probably not fesable would be making the timestamps go to the right time on the embeded video instead of opening your browser.

Overall, I feel this app can profoundly change the crowds approach to contwnt consumption. I haven't tried it on my phone yet but I'd happily subscribe to see the mentionned above features implemented 😄

Hey there, Unlikely that we are going to tackle this anytime soon because such a two way sync is extremely difficult to get right.
